Bohol is a place I never visited, despite it being only 2 hours away from Cebu. The only things I have seen about it are pictures of Chocolate Hills and stories of tarsiers popping up on videos and travel blogs.
I can’t help but wonder what makes this island so special?
When the time came for me to visit Bohol, I was both eager and uncertain about the trip and I can’t wait to share my ferry experience to everyone!
Departure from Cebu

Our day started at 5 a.m. picked up by the van. The jolly tour guide who accomodated us was a very positive person and thus the whole day was so.
Besides, we had to make quite a few stops to fetch all the other three groups that were to be participating in the tour, but the early morning hour did not affect in the least the bright and lively spirits of all the participants.
We were at Cebu Port Terminal 1 by 6 A.M.

Our CSP tour guide helped all the check-ins and ticketing while we waited for our turn in a very comfortable manner.

The terminal had various food stalls that were serving food to the travelers inside. I took water and a little snack to be sure my day had a good beginning.

Our ferry ride on SuperCat departed at 6:30 a.m., and I was very delighted with the smoothness and comfort of the ride.
The seats were very large, clean, and air-conditioned—just right for those who like to have all the convenience and comfort during the trip.

SuperCat crew was very helpful, they were the first people to meet the passengers and their welcoming smiles were very warm, and they made sure that everyone was in the right place before leaving.
They also offer coffee, tea, and light snacks for sale, depending on what you wanted.
The ferry moved noiselessly through the serene waters with big windows giving us a wonderful view of the horizon as the sun was rising.

How to get to Bohol
Here’s how you can get to Bohol from Cebu City.
Step 1: Secure Your Supercat Ticket
It would be preferable if you could get your ticket a day in advance so as to avoid long lines. Nevertheless, you may still be able to get it from the terminal.
Cebu-Tagbilaran vice versa trip is every hour: 6:30 AM, 7:30 AM, 9:00 AM, 11:25 AM, 1:30 PM, 3:00 PM, and 5:25 PM
Tourist: ₱800
Business Class: ₱1,200
Student/PWD Discount: 20% (with Valid ID)
Additional Fees:
Cebu Port Terminal Fee: ₱25
Tagbilaran Port Terminal Fee: ₱30
Terminal Vehicle Pass: ₱10
Step 2: Getting To Cebu Port
The most convenient way to the port is to take GrabTaxi or a Local Taxi with meter.
GrabCar (standard): approximately ₱140
Local Taxi: Metered Fee
Using public transportation is not recommendable since travelers have to walk a fairly long distance to get to the terminal.

After all, we don’t want to be carrying our heavy bags, right? 😆
Step 3: Security and Boarding Pass
- When you arrive, you need to go through security check where they scan your bags before allowing you to go inside the terminal.
- Go to the check-in desk where you will show your ticket and pay the terminal fee.
- Proceed to the boarding area until your trip is called. Show your ticket at the gate and proceed to the ferry.
The whole process is very well organized yet expect a lot of people. Terminal looks very modern and well-kept.
Step 4: Arrival at Tagbilaran Port
In 2 hours, you will arrive in Tagbilaran Port. From here on, there are taxis, motorcycles, and vans to take you to your hotel or nay of the tour destinations in Bohol.
For a smooth tour, I recommend booking a DOT-accredited tour agency.
CSP Travel & Tours made our experience effortless and enjoyable from the start of our tour until the end.

No need to worry, waiting will be far from boring!
