A trip to Cebu is not just all about beaches, nature trips, and heritage tours. The city transforms into a different kind of adventure at night.
The streets light up with an atmosphere where I discovered both traditional Filipino dishes and so much more.
Let the food, atmosphere and people amaze you as we delve into the spots of Cebu’s Night Markets.
Sugbo Mercado

When I first heard of it, I was curious why many people call it a must-visit weekend spot in Cebu.
In 2015, it was founded by a group of Cebuanos to showcase the local culinary scene. Here, people can explore a wide variety of dishes from Cebu’s talented local vendors, all in one lively festive atmosphere.
Located in Cebu IT Park, this food market has something for everyone. I have found that any craving can be found here.

Walking through, it didn’t feel like any other food market. It was an event celebrating Cebu itself.
I could see families, group of friends, and travelers enjoying their foods and laughing over shared plates and drinks.
Since it was a weekend at the time of my visit, a local band is playing live music which gave me that festive feeling and made me want to stay longer than I had planned.
I tried to put on my table everything I can get. I could find barbecue, ramen, milk tea, seafoods, fresh fruit shakes, and a lot of varieties to choose from. A literal food trip!

Sugbo Sentro – Fuente Osmeña

For more than 50 years, this food market has been part of Cebuano’s heritage, uniting food lovers in the city.
Long before Sugbo Mercado became the go-to modern food market, there was the OG that everyone knew and loved, “Larsian.“
Developed in the early 2000’s, this famed barbecue and grill strip carried the smoky aroma and lively spirit that made it a cultural icon.

However, in 2020, LARSIAN was closed due to operational issues.
Thankfully, it was not closed permanently. This spot continues to be a must-visit and relaunched as Sugbo Sentro – Fuente Osmeña.

This special spot still gives the Cebuano’s craving with its lively vibe and smoky aroma.

Sugbo Sentro – Lahug

A few blocks away from Sugbo Merkado, I have found the 3rd branch of Sugbo Sentro, Sugbo Sentro IT Park.
This food market offers a variety of food choices – Fiipino, Korean, Thai, Japanese and American-inspired cuisines.
I have noticed how alive the place feels even in the early afternoon.
Right after office hours, you can see a lot of BPO employees who come to relax, enjoy, and stay a little longer with their colleagues.

I noticed that people can hang out and enjoy drinks here. Unlike other food markets I’ve been to, there are stalls here that sell liquors!
As I walk around, I don’t just see food & beverage stalls – there are clothing stalls that add a unique twist to the market vibe. It feels like a space where I can eat, shop, and unwind all in one go.

Pusô Village

After years of planning, Pusô Village has finally opened its doors at the heart of Carbon Market last July 2025.

Pusô is the heart of every Filipino feast, rice wrapped in coconut leaves or also known as hanging rice.
It was and still part of Cebu’s culture – perfect partner for street foods, especially smoky barbecue.

This new spot highlights Cebu’s cultural roots through local delicacies, food stalls, and unique culinary finds that represent the true flavors of the city.
